On 8 July 2026, our F.5 History students visited Mei Ho House to deepen their understanding of Hong Kong's public housing development and the preservation of local heritage. Through guided tours, students learned how the Grade 2 historic building continues to be conserved and passed down under the Revitalising Historic Buildings Through Partnership Scheme (Revitalisation Scheme).

During the visit, our students explored the history of early resettlement blocks, the day-to-day lives of residents, and the distinctive architectural features of Mei Ho House. Docents also shared the role of the Hong Kong Youth Hostels Association in the Revitalisation Scheme, highlighting how the project balances heritage conservation with adaptive redevelopment.

The visit effectively strengthened students' historical awareness and encouraged them to reflect on how cities can honour the past while meeting present-day needs. It also increased their interest in learning more about local society and helped them feel more connected to the local community.
