Learning Visit to HKBU School of Chinese Medicine
Date: 25/06/2026
On 25 June 2026, 15 students participated in a learning visit to the School of Chinese Medicine, Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU). The activity aimed to broaden students' understanding of Chinese Medicine education, university admission pathways, and the scientific foundations behind Traditional Chinese Medicine.
The visit began with an admission talk, where students learned about the programme structure, entry requirements, and future study pathways in Chinese Medicine. Students also attended a session on how Chemistry supports Traditional Chinese Medicine, including the study of herbal medicine, active ingredients, quality control, and modernisation. This helped them connect classroom Chemistry learning to real-world applications in healthcare and pharmaceutical science.
The programme also included a visit to the Chinese Medicine laboratory, where students observed university-level facilities and gained exposure to research and practical training in Chinese Medicine. Through this experience, students developed a deeper appreciation of the integration between traditional medical wisdom and modern scientific methods.
